Adventure sports in India mainly deals with Raft/Bike hike/Para gliding. There are various places in India which are quite famous for these activities. In India, the famous form of rafting is White Water Rafting. This is most adventurous water sports available in India. You will definitely enjoy the thrill and excitement of this sport. However, it should be noted that it order to pursue this sport you will require certain levels of fitness. You should be physically and mentally fit. Patients suffering from mental ailments or cardiac problems should not indulge in this. Apart from this even pregnant women and nursing mothers should not go for this. Children below 14 years of age are also not allowed. There is no special season for rafting and it can be done between May to November.

The most famous destinations for white water rafting in India include the stretch from Devprayag to Rishikesh. Apart from this various other rivers like Kalisor, Tons, Mandikini, Alakananda, Yamuna, Bhagirathi and Bhilangana are also known for rafting. Rivers flowing from Ladakh and Sikkim can also be used for rafting. However, if you are a foreigner visiting India, then you will have to take prior permissions from the Ministry of Home Affairs and foreigners’ regional registration offices (FRRO). They will issue licenses without which rafting will not be allowed. You should also carry necessary medicines and gain proper training to handle the oar and the other instruments.Paragliding in India

Bike hike is undoubtedly one of the rigorous sports in India but it is also the most enjoyable adventure activities. You can go for self-supported trips. In these trips, you will have to carry all the required equipment and supplies on your bike. Another thing which you can do is to take a van which will carry all the equipments for you. You should carry certain things like bicycle helmet, shorts, t-shirt, wind- cheater, gears, water bottles as well as back pack. Apart from this also carry necessary instruments for repairing your bike in case of emergency. You should have a basic level of fitness for hiking tours.

Some of the places known for bike hikes are Tarai forests, the foothills of Nainital and various places in Himachal Pradesh. The roads are quite good and traffic free, the atmosphere is pollution free. You will enjoy bike hiking through these trails.

Para-gliding is another popular adventure sports in India. A combination of parachuting and hand-gliding is popularly known as para-gliding. The places known for para-gliding in India have been chosen after lot of deliberation. While choosing the destination, the safety of the travelers and adventure sports lovers have been kept in mind. Rafting in India

Kamshet in Maharashtra is an important place for para-gliding. This is known for its scenic beauty and is close to Lonavala and Khandala. October till May is the main season for visiting this region. The Himalayas also offer excellent conditions for para-gliding. You can glide through the Kangra and Kullu Valley. Apart from this, Biling(Bir) and Solang Nala are popular destinations for this this adventure sport. Biling is considered to be one of the best destinations for para-gliding in this world. From March till June is the best season for visiting Biling. This place is located close to Mandi and Daramsala. Solang Nala is located close to Manali. The best season for visiting this place is from May till September. You will go for both tandem flights and solo flights.
